WHAT IS A PORTFOLIO?
A COLLECTION OF YOUR YEAR'S WORK IN ENGLISH - showing the progress you have made in English
throughout the year. Something you can be proud of at the end of the year which shows the amount of effort you have
put into your English studies. IT IS WORTH 10% OF YOUR YEAR'S MARK.
WHAT GOES IN IT?
Everything your teacher marks goes into your portfolio - exams, quizzes, compositions, assignments, anything
you have written or created in English. This can include photographs of trips you've been on with explanations, things
you did in the holidays, friends and family, favourite hobbies and interests.
HOW IS IT MARKED?
You mark it. You are given a self assessment sheet with instructions how to mark your own work.
Then you discuss this with your teacher.
50% is presentation!!! So it is easy to get a high mark at the end of the year.
WHEN DO I HAND IT IN?
It is handed in at the end of January for inspection and your teacher will tell you how to improve it.
Then it is handed in at Pesach with it's final mark.
