YOUR FIRST and SECOND WEEK ON LINE 11th-24th February 2007

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Divide up into study groups of 4(+-1), give your group a name and choose a group leader.

Possible names: Animals - the Tigers, the Ants, the Gorillas - Plants - Birds of Paradise, the Roses, Thistles - Insects - the Spiders, the Butterflies, the Mosquitoes, the Beatles (recognise the name?).

List the name of the group, its members, its leader, telephone numbers.  You can also list the names of your topics for your projects.  This is to be handed in to me next week.

Check in to this site at least once a week to find out what work you need to do.

PORTFOLIOS and SELF ASSESSMENT
You should have started organising your portfolio.  Please make sure to hand it in to me by 25th February so that I can help you correct it to make sure it is acceptable.  GO INTO SELF ASSESSMENT  and use this to help you.  THIS IS NOT YOUR FINISHED PORTFOLIO  and this is not for a grade.  You will hand it in -finished - for a grade after Pesach.

PROJECTS and PROJECT CHECKLISTS
Now that you have all decided on your topics you need to begin organising your projects.  Divide it into sections using your sub-questions to help you.  CHECK YOURSELF using PROJECT CHECKLISTS Stage 1 and 2.  Start developing each section and hand this in to me on 25th February.  Once you receive it back you may continue and finish the project.  Using the Project Checklists to guide you through from Stage 1 - Stage 6

FIRST COMPOSITION - to be handed in on Friday 23/2/07
Write 100-120 words on one of the following.  If you haven't written any compositions until now then you can do two a week.

1.  Opinion - Learning on-line is more beneficial than in class.
2.  For and against - Learning on the internet
3.  Informal letter - Write a letter explaining that you are now going to begin learning English via the internet rather than in class.  Explain the pros and cons (the reasons for and the reasons against).

TESTS
On the last test you had to take two conditional sentences and write them in three tenses.  Some of you did very well others were not sure.  Go to Grammar and enter Conditionals - If.   Read through the rules and explanations then CHECK YOURSELF by doing the exercises then look at the answers and correct your mistakes.
